Lynell was born to the union of Johnnie and Maggie Batties of Idabel, OK.  He attended Richland Elementary and graduated from Grey High School in 1971.  He later moved to Detroit, MI where he worked many years for Chrysler incorporation.  After the death of his father, he moved back to stay with his mother.  He accepted the Lord at an early age, at Maple Spring Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by Rev. Joe and Roaner Jackson; his father and mother, Johnnie and Maggie Batties; and his brother Johnnie Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory of two sons, Duane Batties and Lynell Charles Jr. both of Detroit, MI; one granddaughter, Shynell Batties of Detroit, MI; four sisters, Roana Haney Favor of Idabel, OK, Mamie Milligan of OKC, OK, Gloriece and Don Biglow of OKC, OK, Coryatta and Tommy Nelson of Idabel, OK; two brothers, Sammie and Genevia of Cherry Valley, CA, and Rev. Lonnie Batties of Detroit, MI; Special Appreciation, Kacey Beard, Cicon Jackson, and Tommy Nelson Sr.; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Lynell’s hobbies included fishing, singing, bar-b-queuing, playing Dominoes, gardening when his health permitted and spending time with his nieces and nephews.

**Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Norwood-Nation Chapel in Idabel, OK.   Rev. Jimmie William officiating.
