Ruth Beard, age 80, of Haworth, OK, passed away on August 6, 2017 in Idabel, OK.  Ruth was born the daughter of Ed Shoemaker and Jessie Summerhill-Shoemaker on March 8, 1937 in Idabel, OK. 

Ruth has been a resident of McCurtain County most of her life.  She enjoyed working at public schools as a school cook as well as being a homemaker.  Ruth was also a faithful member of the Haworth Assembly of God in Haworth, OK.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Ruth is preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Beard on September 3, 2010; one granddaughter, Christa Beard; two sisters, Mary Bohlman and Jessie Stephens; and one brother, Daniel Shoemaker.

She is survived by her three sons, Don Beard and wife Norma of Livingston, TX, James Beard of Haworth, OK, Randy Beard and wife Kaye of Idabel, OK; one daughter, Linda Underwood and husband Joe of Houston, TX; one sister, Pat Holmes of Norman, OK; six grandchildren, Sabrina Quinones, Steven Beard, Ransom Beard, Misty Johnson, Kristy Storey, and Steven Meier; eight great-grandchildren, Trevor Quinones, Maci Quinones, Addison Beard, Dillon Johnson, Chase Kenlynn Richard Johnson, Austin Jordan, Brady Jordan, and Tristan Meier.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Norwood-Nation Chapel.  Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Haworth Assembly of God, Haworth, OK.  Followed by interment at Pollard Cemetery.
