Harold Stephen Grigsby Obituary

Harold Stephen Grigsby was born on March 23, 1945 to Grover Andrew and Edna Camille Bond
Grigsby in Texarkana, Texas.
He was raised in the Broken Bow area, graduated from Broken Bow High School, and joined the
United States Navy where he served four years in Vietnam. He returned to Broken Bow and
was employed by Weyerhaeuser.
He and his wife Carolyn later traveled the United States where he was a craftsman on many
jobs. He was an excellent pipe fitter and stayed in demand on jobs. In many of their travels
they were accompanied by their six boys and special boston-terrier fur babies. They always
found adventures, camping on the river sides, panning for gold, hunting and fishing.
He retired to Yanush Community, Oklahoma and enjoyed a little cabin tucked on the bank of
Sardis Lake. He loved his gardens, raising chickens, turkeys, and other critters. He learned to
can and do a little cooking, sometimes beating Carolyn on the jams and jellies. Many seasons
were enjoyed fishing with dear friends, Glen and Norma Whisenhunt, gardening and canning
with Marcel and Kathy Griffith and visiting and conjuring up stuff with special neighbors Casey
and Cheryl Henry.
Harold passed away March 11, 2025 at Broken Bow, Oklahoma.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carolyn Caldwell Grigsby; brothers,
Donald, Robert, and Lewis Grigsby; sisters, Virginia Grigsby and Linda Hughes.
Harold leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Kelly Grigsby of Idabel, OK, Neal and Millie
Grigsby of Whitesville, NC, and Troy Grigsby of Broken Bow, OK; bonus sons, Bradley Caldwell
of Federal Way, Washington, Brandon Stewart and Holly of Broken Bow, OK, and Brian Mackey
of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Stephen Duane Grigsby, Kathryn Ball, Elizabeth Chayton
Binson; great-granddaughter, Bonnie Ball; numerous nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-
law and special friends.
