Lawanda Owens

Lawanda Owens, 66 of Haworth, Oklahoma, passed away February 19, 2024 at Idabel. She was born July 22, 1957 to Alvin Steaveson, Sr. and Barbara Jean Barber.

Lawanda was an avid photographer, usually seen behind the camera taking all of the family photographs. She loved riding horses and collecting Breyer horses. Besides taking care of her trees and flowers, she mostly loved taking care of her family.

Lawanda leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Richard Owens of Haworth; sons and daughters-in-law, Wade and Mandy Steaveson, Billy and Jana Owens, Shane and Teresa Owens, Richard Jr. and Carol Owens; brothers, Alvin Steaveson, Jr., Jeffrey Steaveson, Craig Steaveson; sister, Wuanelle and Ray Vanness, 29 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and many friends who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Misty Simpson, grandson Luke Simpson, grandparents Florence and Buman White, great grandson Ryker Owens, and in-laws Elva and Mary Owens.

A celebration of her life will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 26, 2024 at Clardy Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. John Franks officiating. Interment will follow at Haworth Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Clardy Funeral Service Chapel.
