Betty Jane Bartlett, 73 of Wright City, passed away November 4, 2019 at her home. She was born October 22, 1946, the daughter of Charlie and Mamie Wyatt. She married Charles Bartlett at Wright City, Oklahoma on March 3, 1978.
Betty taught at Forest Grove, Hugo and Wright City Schools. She was a member of the National Educators Association and the Retired Teachers Association.
Forever a teacher, Betty made the decision to continue being an educator by donating her body to the University of Texas for teaching and research purposes.
Betty enjoyed fishing, gardening and writing poetry. Some of her poems were even published. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, LaDyna Bartlett; son, Charles “Boyd” Bartlett and wife, Staci; sisters, Alvie Andrews, Liz Howard, Sam Howard, Lois Wells and Wanda Vinyard; grandchildren, David Combs, Brandy Combs, MaKaden Bartlett, Kirsten Bartlett and Shalynn Bartlett; great-grandchildren, Landri Moore, Hunter Combs and Harper Combs; special friends, Kelly Osborn and Janice Williams; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Bartlett; three brothers and one sister.
Family and friends will gather at 6:00 p.m. Friday, November 8, 2019 at 401 Railroad Road, Wright City, Oklahoma to share memories of Betty.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty’s honor to Susan G. Komen, 5005 Lyndon B Johnson Freeway #526, Dallas, Texas 75244 to further cancer research.
