Curtis Stacey

May 24, 1934 ~ January 19, 2018 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Curtis (Buck) Stacey, 83 of Idabel, passed away January 19 at the Paris Regional Hospital in Paris, Texas.  He was born May 24, 1934 in Canoe, Alabama, the son of JD Curtis Stacey and Nettie Louise Smith Stacey.

A Veteran of the United States Army National Guard, Curtis received an Honorable Discharge August 25, 1950. He graduated May 26, 1952, as Valedictorian of his class at the Ernest Ward High School in Walnut Hill, Florida.

After High School, Curtis begin working for the paper industry. He eventually became employed by the Weyerhauser Paper Company. During his time there he invented a chip sampler for the company that may still be in use today.  He retired from Weyerhauser and began working as a security guard at the Tyson Plant in Broken Bow.

He was a 33rd degree Mason and was a member of the Goodwater Masonic Lodge and the Idabel Masonic Lodge. He was an active member of the Idabel Lions Club where he served president during his membership. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his children at the lake as much as possible.

Curtis leaves to cherish his memory his children, Mike Stacey and wife, Becky of Idabel, Jacque Ishcomer of Idabel, Garry Stacey and wife, Joanie of Idabel, Sheila Allison and husband, Clay of Red Oak, Texas, Lorri Citty and husband, Kenneth of Idabel, grandchildren, Shawn Stacey, Stacey Chesher, Robby Chapnick, Jillyann Eastham, Justin Stacey, Stephen Allison, Chris Allison, Ryan Allison, Jason Citty, Kendall Phillips; twenty-five great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson, siblings: Helen Courtney, Elvin Stacey, Faye Haver, Ronald Stacey, Linda Peacock, John Stacey, Doyle Stacey and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anne Frazier Stacey; sisters, Eloise Ellis and Maedell Bartley.

There will be a celebration of life memorial at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Brent Coffey officiating. Masonic and Military Rites will be acknowledged.

The family will receive friends following the service.
