Melva Louise McCutcheon, 76 of Idabel, passed away November 1, 2019 at Hill Nursing Home. She was born March 24, 1943 at Redland, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jim and Alene Mathews.
Melva worked at Tysons for 16 years and never missed a day of work while employed there.
Melva lived in Idabel her whole lifetime. She dearly loved her grandchildren. She enjoyed yard work, gambling, cooking and made the best chocolate gravy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sherry Palmer; son, James Randall “Crutch” McCutcheon; brother, Rex Mathews; sisters, Linda Walker, Oleta Boaldin, and Polly Wright.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sons and daughters-in-law; Jeff McCutcheon and Glenda Heathman of Idabel and John and Helen McCutcheon of Hugo; brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Colleen Mathews of White Oak, Texas and Paul and Rosie Mathews of Gladewater, Texas; sisters and brother-in-law, Joan Ferguson of Idabel, Ann Smith of Meridian, Mississippi, Gina and Craig Barnett of Longview, Texas; seven grandchildren, Kyle, Andy, Rayanne, Terry Shane, Janet, Serena, Natalie; longtime special friend, Effie Raspberry; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
A celebration of life graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 4, 2019 at the Redland Cemetery with Diane Pulte officiating.
Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 3, 2019 at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel.
