Alvin James Young, Sr., “AJ”, 68 of Idabel, passed away July 7, 2022 at his home. He was born July 30,
1954 at Odessa, Texas, the son of James Edward Young and Cleaster Bell Coleman.
AJ attended Job Corp at an early age, learning many trades to help him to be successful in life. He began
his career at McCurtain Memorial Hospital as a young adult having been employed there for fifty years,
currently as a maintenance technician. He loved his family, especially his grandkids and always enjoyed
spending time with them.
AJ was kind and always had a smile. He enjoyed working in his yard and helping people.
AJ is survived by his daughter, Regina Hill and spouse Dennis Green; son, Alvin Young, Jr.; brother,
Clarence Young; sister, Von Young; three grandchildren, Regdrick Young, Chamaudria Hill, Tamaudria
Hill; seven great-grandchildren, Kynnidee Davis, Chykylih Richardson, Al’leena Young, Zaylen Hill, Aniyah
Murray, Amir McCarty, Za’Drin McCarty; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and
McCurtain Memorial Family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Celestine Booth, Curtis Gene Young and Christine
Coleman Patton.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the Clardy
Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Virgil Owens officiating.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of McCurtain Memorial Hospital for their kindness,
