Auston Allen Scarborough Obituary

Auston Allen Scarborough, 82 of Idabel, passed away August 3, 2022 at Memorial Heights Nursing
Home. He was born July 25, 1940 in the Shultz community, the son of Willie Marie Jackson and Paul
Scarborough, Sr.
Allen is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Penny Scarborough of Idabel; daughter and
son-in-law, Missy and Ronnie Meyer of Idabel; brother, Paul Scarborough, Jr. of Idabel; sister, Viola
Beard of Meridian, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Rachel Meyer, Brandon Scarborough and wife SanTana,
Blake Scarborough, Bradley Scarborough and wife Summer, Ashely Williston and husband Cody, Kaylie
Parsons and partner Michael Wright; eleven great-grandchildren; special care giver Nikki Capers; and
numerous relatives and life-long friends. 
Allen was preceded in death by his parents and the mother of his children, Lorene Jeanette
Scarborough.
Allen graduated from Idabel Gray High in 1958 and joined the Navy in January of 1959 serving AMS 2
Flight Deck aboard the USS Forrestal, USS Constellation, and the USS Roosevelt through December 1962.
Allen dedicated his life to learning and cultivating many passions: carpentry, pipeline work, hunting,
trapping, fishing, and reading Western novels by Louis Lamar to name a few. After learning carpentry
from Idabel Gray High, he became a master carpenter repairing numerous homes in Idabel. Allen
worked at both The Hilltop Lumber Yard and Mendenhall Lumber Yard. He was a member of the
Pipeliners Union Local 798 and a contractor with the City of Idabel for many years bush hogging and
inspecting. Allen was a member of the Idabel Masonic Lodge #264. 
Family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday, August 7, 2022 at the Clardy Funeral Service
Chapel.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 am Monday August 8, 2022 at the Clardy Funeral
Service Chapel with Brother Hayes Linville officiating. Interment will follow in the Philadelphia Cemetery
at Goodwater, Oklahoma.
