Ben A. Tucker, Jr., 88 of Haworth, was called home to be with his Savior, February 23, 2021. He was born, April 24, 1932 at home in Goodwater, Oklahoma, the son of Ben Sr. and Minnie Tucker. He was the youngest of eight children and the last member of his family to pass away.
Ben and Marie were united in marriage on September 6, 1952 at Texarkana. Later, they moved to California. While living there Ben worked as a commuter bus driver. He and his family spent a lot of time at the lake in California, camping during the summers before returning to Oklahoma in 1967 where they made their home and he began working in the timber industry.
Ben was an avid sportsman. Fishing with his wife was his most enjoyable hobby along with duck and pheasant hunting and playing guitar. After he lost his arm, he played steel guitar and continued to play at church until his passing. He had been a member of the Idabel Church of God since 1981. He enjoyed music nights and weekly game nights with friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters and sons-in-law, Jeannie and Phillip Taylor of Haworth, Kathy “Guen” and Duane Murphy of Garland, Texas, Phyllis and Tom Barbato of Navarre Beach, Florida, Vickey and David Atnip of Haworth; grandchildren, Keith Taylor, Eric Taylor, Nathan Springer, Kyle Staska, Leah George, Britney Wewers, Tyler Atnip, Rachelle Atnip; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; six sisters and his wife of sixty-eight years, Marie Tucker.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Wayne Freeman and Sis. Tammy Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in the Pauley Cemetery near Winthrop, Arkansas.
Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2021 prior to the funeral service.
