Bernida Johanna Spihlman Rodgers, age 88 of Garvin, earned her wings and became an Angel of God on Saturday, March 28, 2020. She was born September 19, 1931 in Trenton, Illinois, the daughter of Sylvester and Catherine Albers Spihlman. She was of the Catholic faith.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Bernida was a wonderful person who loved spending time with her family, crocheting, sewing and gardening her flowers.
Bernida leaves to cherish her memory her children, Frances Evans of New Mexico, David Rodgers and wife, Wanda of Garvin, Virginia Roots and significant other, Tim of Garvin, James Rodgers and wife Donna of Idabel, Tom Rodgers and wife, Bly of Goodwater, Terry Rodgers and wife, Penny of Idabel, Mary Ridge of Haworth, Eddie Rodgers and wife, Donna of Idabel; sister, Florence Drees of Trenton, Illinois; sister-in-law, Shirley Spihlman of Trenton, Illinois; twenty-two grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; numerous, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 62 years, Edgar Waymon Rodgers, Jr.; bothers, James Spihlman and Paul Spihlman; sister-in-law, Pat Spihlman; brother-in-law, Andrew Drees (Red); sons-in-law, Hayden Evans, Dan Roots and Mark Ridge; granddaughter, Angela Roots and great-granddaughter, MacKenzie Jones.
