Betty Butler

Betty Lue Butler, age 82, of Tom, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025, in
Texarkana, Texas. She was born on September 20, 1942, to the late Henry Roberts and Eliza
French.
Betty was united in marriage to Charles Butler on August 4, 1964, in Tom, Oklahoma. Together, they
shared a devoted and loving partnership that spanned many years. She was a woman of strong faith,
filled with the Holy Ghost, and deeply committed to her church and spiritual life. Betty was
known for her sharp memory, quick wit, and sense of humor. She had a way of telling it like it
was, with honesty, love, and often a dose of laughter. Her warm spirit and lively conversations
made her the heart of every gathering.
She loved spending time with her family, and nothing brought her more joy than being
surrounded by her children and grandchildren. A proud mother and grandmother, Betty poured
love, wisdom, and guidance into the lives of those she held dear. She also loved going out to eat
and sharing meals and laughter with the people she loved most.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Butler; one brother; five sisters; and her
beloved nephew, Tarlon “Fish” Baker.
Betty is survived by her children: Ricki Roberts and wife Margueritte of Idabel, Oklahoma; Carl
Butler and wife Mary of Tom, Oklahoma; Tonnie Butler and wife Latrisha of Broken Bow,
Oklahoma; Mel Butler and wife Gina of Idabel, Oklahoma; Tyrone Butler of Tom, Oklahoma;
Carloyn Campbell and husband Aaron of Tom, Oklahoma; Andrea Johnson of De Queen,
Arkansas; and Barbara Sanders of Ashdown, Arkansas; and sisters Letha Walker and Betty Chapman.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Mario, Chanell, Morgan, Julie, Brittney, Bo, Shaunte,
Darrion, Keatrea, Shavonna, Monique, TJ, Tamia, Jaden, Kimberly, Devaughn, Nayland Jr.,
Kylan, MaKenley, and Makel; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones who will
continue to cherish her memory.
Family will receive friends from 6:00–8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Clardy Funeral
Service Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 17,
2025, at Clardy Funeral Service, with Pastor Renee Wright officiating.
