Candy Ann Brittain, 46 of Idabel, was born August 21, 1978 in San Bernadino, California, the
daughter of Janice and Vincent Vysocky. She moved to Oklahoma at an early age. She
married Kevin Brittain on July 3, 1999.
Candy was employed by Haworth Public Schools as an Administrative Assistant. Her role went
far above what she was employed to do as she spent numerous self-less hours tending to
students beyond the hours of school. She loved baking and would help with fundraisers and
events at the school and was always willing to help. Her Lion spirit shined through as she
fought a courageous battle with cancer.
Candy exemplified kindness, grace and compassion. She supported her friends and family in
everything they did. Her children brought her endless pride and happiness, and she was always
there for them. Her heart was full when she was able to spend time with them. She loved to pull
them around on the jet ski and go camping.
Candy’s memory will be treasured by the love of her life and soul mate, Kevin Brittain; mother,
Janice Speegle; children, Chase Brittain and Lainey-Ann Brittain; half-brother, Jamie Speegle
and wife Mindy; half-sister, Kristie Speegle; sister-in-law, Kristie Brittain; mother-in-law, Sally
Brittain; close cousins raised together like sisters, Robin Schueller and Jennifer Havins; aunt,
Dian Kelly; her Haworth Lions Family; numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her dad, Vincent Vysocky; stepdad, Jim Speegle; grandparents,
Irvin and Peggy Kelly and honorary grandmother, Dimple Jackson.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel
