Celia McBrayer, 92 of Broken Arrow, passed away October 11, 2023 at Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She
was born August 13, 1931, the daughter of Coy and Grace Lee Calaway.
Celia owned and operated Calaway’s Flower and Bridal Shop in Idabel from 1977 until 1986, located in
the McCurtain Village Shopping Center. She and her family lived in Idabel for many years before moving
to Broken Arrow. She was a member of the Haworth Order of the Eastern Star and the Ron Short
Evangelistic Association.
Celia is survived by her sons, Billy McBrayer and Randy McBrayer; grandson, Coy McBrayer;
granddaughters, Leah Brumbaugh, Ashley Hunt, Julie Bartlett, Karen Bannon; cousin and best friend, JL
Calaway; foster son and wife, Terry and Linda Hester; ten great-grandchildren; eight great-great
grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul McBrayer; brother, Raymond Calaway; and daughter-
in-law, Ima McBrayer.
A celebration of life graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2023 at the
Denison Cemetery Pavilion. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Clardy
Funeral Service Chapel on Saturday, October 14, 2023.
