Charles Leroy Lewis

Charles Leroy Lewis, also known as “Good Time Charlie,” 76, passed from this life September 6, 2021 in Idabel, OK.  Charlie was born March 9, 1945, in Idabel, OK, to Willie C. Hill and Christine Lewis.

Charlie was affiliated with the Church of Christ Church and had lived in McCurtain County all of his life.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, being outdoors, and being with his grandchildren.  Charlie loved enjoying a good BBQ meal with his friends and family.  He enjoyed listening to Blues music, as well.  Charlie proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Charlie married the love of his life Virgil Moore on November 3, 1967, in Idabel, OK.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Willie C. Hill and Christine Lewis; brothers, Billy, Marvin, and Johnny Pauley, and Kenneth Hill; and sister, Augustine Pauley Dixon.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Virgil Lewis, of Idabel; children, Chantrell Rahim Lewis, of Idabel, LaQuinette D. Moore Lewis, of Idabel, Sheila D. Hornburger, and Billy, of Idabel, and Tarrous T.Q. Lewis, and special friend, Amanda Cloud, of Idabel; brothers, Jimmy Pauley, of Los Angeles, CA, Cornell Pauley, and Samuel Pauley, both of Lancaster, CA; sister, Jeanica Pauley Edward, of Lancaster, CA, Sharon Denise Hill-Butler, of Hanford, CA, and Shirley Hill-Lyttleton, and husband, Mark, of Ft. Worth, TX; a host of grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Crotroal French, of Idabel, Harold Widell, of Idabel, and Greg Bennett, of Idabel; a host of other relatives and friends.

A Homegoing Celebration will take place Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11AM at the Bypass Church of Christ, Idabel.

Wake service will be Friday, from 5-7PM, on Friday, September 17, 2021 at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel.
