Curtis Cantrell Obituary

Curtis Wendell Cantrell, aged 82, of Tom, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his residence on
Tuesday, January 14th, 2025. Born on August 23, 1942, in Paris, Texas, he was the son of Curtis
and Theona (Gray) Cantrell.
Throughout his life, he worked as a professional painter. His hobbies included hunting with his
hounds, horses, and dogs, as well as spending quality time with family and friends. On Saturday
evenings, Curtis would often be found on the dance floor with friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include three sons: Merit Cantrell of Tulsa;
Roger Cantrell of Longview; and Scott Cantrell of Greenville. Additionally, he is survived by his
grandchildren: Cassandra Gutierrez and her husband, Alfredo, of Mt. Vernon; Wayne Cantrell
and his wife, Lauren, of Greenville; Katelyn Tamez and her husband, JJ, of Marshall; and
Makayla Cantrell of Hallsville; as well as his great-grandchildren: Annabelle Gutierrez, Madasyn
Gutierrez, Zachary Cantrell, Zayden Cantrell, Benjamin Tamez, Analisa Tamez, Noel Ashmore,
and Avery Ashmore.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2024 at the Clardy
Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. John Draper officiating. Curtis will be laid to rest in the
Oaklawn Cemetery at Cooper, Texas.
