He was known for his kindness, work ethic, humor and devotion to his family, and he found great joy in spending time camping and woodturning, where he was a long-time member of the Southeast Oklahoma Woodturners. Danny also enjoyed working in children’s ministries, especially serving in the summer food ministries with the local churches in the Idabel area. Danny worked as a Senior Gas Technician for over 30 years with Oklahoma Natural Gas, where he had many life-long friends.
He is survived by his wife, Sue, of the home, as well as, his daughter, Miranda and David McKinney; son-in-law, Eddie Tate; grandsons, Trey DeForrest and wife Kayla, Jason Tate, Michael McKinney, Austin McKinney, David McKinney, III, and Danny Olen McKinney; granddaughters, Kaydance McKinney, Avery Dollar, and Raelena McKinney; sisters-in-law, Margy & Randy Tucker, Alice & Phil Woodrum, and Tami & Gary Robbins; special friends, Scooter & Rose Lewis and Rodney Dollar; and many more family and friends.
