Debby Jordan Obituary

Deborah Kay (Price) Jordan, known as Debby, peacefully passed away in Paris,
Texas, on September 22, 2024. She was born in Idabel, Oklahoma on May 17,
1948, to Jess and Delma (Metcalf) Price.
Debby cherished her early years growing up west of Broken Bow, surrounded by
her extended Metcalf, Tucker, Miller, and Walthall families. A devoted member of
the Presbyterian Church in Broken Bow, she was deeply connected to her
community. In 1958, her family moved to Idabel, where she graduated from Gray
High School in 1966. She furthered her education with a Bachelor's Degree from
Southeastern Oklahoma State University and a Master’s Degree from the
University of North Texas, ultimately working as a certified rehabilitation
counselor for the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services – Visual
Services Division.
In later years, Debby married Buddy Jordan, and they made their home on his
ranch north of Antlers. Buddy’s easygoing nature and love for the outdoors
complemented Debby’s own passion for animals, which began in her youth. She
had many beloved horses and dogs, with Peanut and Nicky being particularly
special to her. One of Debby’s fondest childhood memories was a family vacation
to Colorado, where she spent hours capturing elusive chipmunks on film.
Debby was known not just for her culinary talents but also for her green thumb.
At church functions, her homemade chocolate and coconut cream pies were very
popular. It became a bit of a tradition for the serving ladies to sneak their slices of
pie ahead of time, ensuring they would savor a piece of her delicious creations.
She also cultivated many stunning flower beds and potted plants. She took pride
in her beautiful flowerbeds and manicured yard. Her passion for both cooking and
gardening brought warmth and joy to everyone around her.
Debby’s greatest joys were her children and grandchildren, and she maintained
lifelong relationships with her cousins, aunts, and uncles. Her warm spirit touched
many, including her dear friends Carol Lee Capp, Ann Paterson, and Sue Williams.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward “Buddy” Jordan;
parents, Jess and Delma (Metcalf) Price; and grandparents, Frances Marion and
Beulah Mae Metcalf, and Jess and Elizabeth (King) Price.
Debby is survived by her children, Kris-Ann Frazier and husband Randy of Wister,
Oklahoma and Steve Smalling and wife Amy of Idabel, Oklahoma; grandchildren,

Chase Austin and wife Amanda of Soper, Oklahoma, and Koty Austin and wife
Shayla of Antlers, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Cole, Emaree, Jentry,
and Berkley; as well as numerous cousins and special friends.
The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to special caregivers, Lacosta
Litchfield and Brylea Farrar, whose exceptional support and friendship made a
significant difference to Debby and the family.
