Delma Nadine Coffey Whisenhunt was born on August 1, 1931, in Garvin, Oklahoma. She passed away on January 22, 2026 in North Richland Hills, Texas, at the age of 94. Delma lived a long and faithful Christian life, with unwavering devotion to her family and to the Lord. To many, she was known as Delma, but to those that loved her the most, she was simply "Grandmama", a steady presence, a source of comfort and the heart of the family. Delma was a member of the Bypass Church of Christ in Idabel, OK.
At the age of 18, Delma married her beloved husband, Ernest Gibson Whisenhunt. They built a life centered on God, family and commitment, and were married for over 55 years until Ernest's death in 2006. She was a proud mother to her 4 surviving sons: Russel (Aracely), Vernon (Jan), Gary (Chryste) and Kenny (Ada). Her family continued to grow throughout the years, and she cherished her role as grandmother and great grandmother - titles she wore with joy.
Her surviving grandchildren are Bryan Whisenhunt (Mary), Bree Stubbs (Tim), Taylor Coffman, Christin Reger (Shane), Nolan Whisenhunt (Kelly) and Chase Whisenhunt. Delma is survived by 8 great grandchildren, Reed Stubbs, Gage Stubbs, Brady Whisenhunt, Lane Reger, Brighton Coffman, Kendall Whisenhunt, Caroline Stubbs and Audrey Whisenhunt. Delma was a devoted church member who valued prayer, worship and fellowship. She also enjoyed gardening, baking for family gatherings and especially fishing. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, family and love that will continue through the generations she helped shape.
