Devorick Juntate Dawson Lewis, 39 of Idabel, passed away November 17, 2022 at Idabel, Oklahoma. He
was born May 1, 1983 at Idabel, Oklahoma, the son of Bobby Dawson and Chantrell Lewis. He was a
2002 graduate of Idabel High School. After high school he went on to become a barber. He was known
to his momma and to others as the “Walking Barber” as he would travel to those who needed their hair
cut if they couldn’t come to him. He was a generous, loving and caring person who would give you the
shirt off his back. He cared deeply for his family and enjoyed family gatherings very much. He was crazy
about his children, nieces and nephews and he really loved his momma and caring for her. He loved
dancing and clowning around. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys Fan.
Devorick was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Billy E. Dawson, Sr. and Charles Lewis.
Devorick is survived by his children, Taleb Lewis, Zale Lewis and Zakiya Lewis all of Idabel, Juntate Lewis
and Kahlen Lewis both of Spencer, Oklahoma, Deon Lewis and D’Ambria Lewis both of Idabel; mother,
Chantrell Rahim of Idabel; father, Bobby Dawson of Dallas, Texas; grandmothers, Jeanette Dawson
Burns of Dallas, Texas and Virgil Lewis of Idabel; siblings, LaCresha Mitchell of Gastonia, North Carolina,
Dwayne Lewis Whitaker of Amarillo, Texas, Ruqayyah Rahim of Idabel, Hamzaeh Lewis of Oklahoma
City, Ashely Campbell and husband Rickey, De’Ambria Sims and husband Narada, Quaishía Dawson,
Charmelle Dawson-Gilbert, Marquita Dawson-Townes, La’Darius Cha’Che Dawson all of Dallas; Trevon
Dawson of Washington DC; special aunt, Tracy Johnson; numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces,
nephews and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Clardy Funeral Service
Chapel. Interment will follow in the Denison Cemetery.
