Doris Perkins, 89 of Idabel, passed away September 30, 2020 at her home. She was born December 13, 1930 at Chelsea, Alabama, the daughter of Samuel and Lucille Williamson.
Doris was a high school math teacher, teaching for thirty-four years. She a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, rock collecting, organizing the local gem and mineral club, genealogy and helping others. She volunteered numerous years and served as a board member of Hand to Hand. She also received the “Jack Tucker Volunteer of the Year” award.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Perkins; son, Tim Perkins; and her parents.
Doris is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jon and Debbie Perkins of Batesville, Arkansas, Andy and Claudia Perkins of Idabel, Ann Perkins of Grayson, Georgia; sisters, Barbara Beene of Baldwin, Missouri and Dr. Nita Davidson of Pell City, Alabama; brother, William “Bill” Q. Williamson and wife, Jackye of Randolph, Mississippi; five grand-daughters; ten great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Trinity Baptist Church in Idabel with Bro. Don Meyer officiating.
