Dorothy Heckadon

Dorothy Y. Heckadon, 88 of Avery, Texas, passed away March 30, 2022 in Idabel. She was born September 5, 1933 at Crockett, Texas,  the daughter of Thomas and Katie Campbell.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Idabel. 

Dorothy enjoyed quilting, crocheting and sewing and was very good at it.  She also enjoyed cooking, especially baking sweets and her cobblers were amazing.  She worked throughout her life at various jobs, but one of her favorites was working for the funeral homes and tending to the families in need. She loved people and helping them. 

Dorothy is survived by her sons, David Lundry and wife Chantay of Idabel, Tom Lundry and wife Sandy of Chandler, Texas; grandchildren, Aaron Lundry and wife Wendy of Harris, Caleb Lundry and wife LaRissa of Tulsa; great-grandchildren, Evan Lundry, Addison Farley, Bryson Farley, Josie Farlie; sister- Lorene Estes of Avery, Texas; sister-in-law, Wanda Campbell of Valliant; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd Heckadon; sister, Billie Estes; brothers, Alton Campbell, F.D. Campbell, Alfred “Boots” Campbell; grandson, Kevin Lundry; step-sons, Eldon, Paul and Allen Heckadon.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2022 at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel with Hank Campbell officiating.  Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Spring Hill Community, Texas.   Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2022 at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel.
