Doug Trigg, 99, of Idabel, passed away June 29, 2019 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital. Eugene Douglas Trigg was born August 22, 1919, in Hugo, to Andrew Frank and Virgie Leona (Hatcher) Trigg.
Doug Trigg was a member of the First Baptist Church of Idabel and had lived in Idabel since 1972 coming from Hugo. Doug was known as a simple man, maybe even a home body, but a very loving family man. He enjoyed fishing when he was younger, and most people will remember Doug sitting at the McCurtain Auto Supply drinking his coffee. Doug retired from Mistletoe Express as a freight worker. Doug also proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps from 1942 – 1945 as a military police officer.
Doug and Oleta Hubbard were united in marriage on August 10, 1946, in Paris, TX, and they spent a wonderful 54 years together until her passing on March 22, 2000. Their loving marriage resulted in one child, Earl Douglas Trigg.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Virgie Trigg; and wife, Oleta Trigg.
Doug leaves to cherish his memory to his son, Earl Douglas Trigg, of Idabel; sister-in-law, Sandy Robinson, of Lovington, NM; nieces, Kay Bradley and husband, James Taylor, of Tulsa, Dena Robinson Aquilar and husband, Steve, of Albuquerque, NM, Beth Chilcott and her husband, of California, and Ann Chapman, of Sacramento, CA; nephews, Ray Wylie Hubbard and wife, Judy, of Wimberley, TX, and Gary Don Robinson and wife, Carla, of Lovington, NM; very special friends, Bob and Tammy Hughes, of Idabel; along with a host of many other friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at 2:00pm, at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel, with Bro. Wayne Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at Denison Cemetery, Idabel, OK.
Visitation will be Monday, July 1, 2019 from 6:00-8:00pm, at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel, Idabel, OK.
