Elvie Hooks, 75 of Idabel, passed away January 13, 2019 at Hill Nursing Home. He was born January 14, 1943 at Idabel, the son of Restee Sr. and Ola Mae Hooks. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Elvie enjoyed gardening and being outdoors. He loved fishing but hadn’t been since his wife passed in 1995.
He is survived by his daughter, Mae Howard; son, Willie T. Howard; brothers, Restee Hooks Jr., John Hooks, Curtis Hooks, Edmond Hooks, Roger Hooks, David Hooks; sisters, Leola Wright, Loretta Sheffey, Willie B. Thomas; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; numerous, nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.
Elvie was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Georgia M. Hooks; daughter, Deborah Ann Hooks; and an infant grandson.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel. David Hooks will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow at the Williamston Cemetery in Idabel, Oklahoma.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2019 at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel.
