Gary Taylor Obituary

Gary Don Taylor, age 71, beloved husband, father and grandfather of the Redland community sadly left our world Saturday, July 6, 2024.  Gary was born to George and Dorothy Jean Womack Taylor in Paducah, Kentucky, on September 25, 1952. He grew up in Redland, OK.  He graduated from Idabel High School in 1970 and attended Oklahoma Christian College.   Gary married Deborah Foster on August 31, 1974, and would have been married 50 years. He was a life-long member of Redland Church of Christ where he had preached, taught and led singing.  He also preached at Garvin Church of Christ and several other local area Churches of Christ for many years.  Gary continued preaching and teaching while battling cancer in the last year and half of his life.  He had taught Tae Kwon Do for several years and was a second-degree black belt.

Gary worked at Brown & Root in Valliant, OK, retiring after over thirty-five years of service.  His favorite times were spent with his family, his extended family and especially, his grandchildren.  He loved being outdoors and working on his land with his cattle and horses.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his wife, Debbie; children, Melissa and Hon Cha and their children, Maeli and Landon of Flower Mound, Texas, Amanda Taylor of Redland, John and Kim Taylor and their children, Bryanna and Austin of Redland; brother, Cliff and wife Shelly of Hobbs, New Mexico; sister, Sherry and husband Marc Gargano of Redland; sister-in-law, Becky and husband Steve Gibson of Texarkana, Texas; brother-in-law, David and wife Pam Foster of Foremen, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Karen and the late Byron Dale Foster of Garvin, Oklahoma; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, and their children.
