Helen Watson Obituary

Helen Mae Watson, 89, of Goodwater, passed away on March 6, 2023 surrounded by
her family.
Helen was born on October 1, 1933 to Thomas and Jessie Archer in Bakersfield,
CA.  When she was a teenager, the family moved from California to SE Oklahoma.  In
1952, she married Doyle Watson and the couple made their life in Goodwater, OK.
Helen loved gardening and had a green thumb that anyone would be envious of - she
could grow anything.  She enjoyed walking her yard and showing off her colorful flowers
and large garden where she grew corn, watermelons, and tomatoes.
Helen was a fantastic cook and enjoyed feeding everyone – you weren’t leaving her
house without eating something or taking home leftovers.  Everyone (including her
dogs) reaped the rewards of Helen’s good nature and desire to keep everyone fed.  Her
little dog Colby was bigger around than he was tall!
She was always up for a game of farkle or hand of gripe rummy which she rarely lost.
Helen always welcomed everyone with open arms and was absolutely the sweetest
woman you could ever cross paths with.  She will be very missed by her friends and
family who she showed so much love and affection for.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Doyle, son Roger, and daughter Sandy.
She is survived by her daughter Cathy Wilson, of Redland; grandchildren Kelly Hedger
of The Woodlands, TX, Rusty Watson of Tulsa, OK, Terry and wife Julie Flood of
Goodwater, OK, Don and wife Abby Watson of Tulsa, OK, Nelda and husband Jim
Kelley of Tulsa, OK, Kymberlee and husband Jeff Getts of Broken Arrow, OK, Tim Flood
of Goodwater, OK, James and wife Marissa Watson of Tulsa, OK, and Matt Wilson of
Tulsa, OK; thirteen great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
