Henry Satterfield, Jr. Obituary

Henry Satterfield, Jr. 57 of Idabel, passed away March 22, 2021 at Paris, Texas.  He was born July 30, 1963 at Big Spring, Texas, the son of Henry and Johnnie Satterfield.  He was a member of the Forest Hill Baptist Church and a Veteran of the United States Navy, stationed at Key West, Florida.

After his first date with Peggy Grant, he had fallen in love.  They were married at his parent’s house on December 25, 1985.  He chose this day because it was the day his grandparents were also married and had set forth a great example of what a marriage should be.

Henry served the county as and EMT/Paramedic and Respiratory Tech at McCurtain Memorial Hospital.  He loved being a paramedic and loved his patients and treated every one of them like family, often checking on them beyond their emergencies and hospital stays.

Henry owned and operated Unk’s Music Store for some time, where he had a recording studio.  He loved music.  He was full of love and life.  He could always pull off making you laugh or smile even on a bad day.  He was a great husband, father, grandfather and the best uncle ever!  He was well known in the medical community and well loved.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Satterfield; parents, Henry Sr. and Johnnie Satterfield of Idabel; son and daughter-in-law, Trae and Michelle Satterfield of Little Elm, Texas; grandchildren, Kai and Nikko Satterfield of Little Elm, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Dale Lappin of Idabel; nephews, Brandon Bills and wife Laci Janae of Eagle River, Alaska and Casey Bills and wife, Ashley of Lamar, Arkansas; great-nieces, Reagan Bills, Lani Lappin and Josie Bills of Lamar, Arkansas; numerous other relatives; McCurtain Memorial Hospital Family; EMS Family and patients.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Viola Maddux and Wavey Satterfield.
