Ida Vanette "Net" Bastible

Ida Vanette Bastible, lovingly known as Net, age 90, passed away peacefully July 22, 2025 at her
home in Reno, Texas. She was born December 19, 1934 at Idabel, Oklahoma the daughter of
Kirk Baxter and Johnnie Reich Baxter. She married R.D. Bastible at Idabel, Oklahoma. She was
preceded in death by her parents; husband, R.D. Bastible; brothers J.K. Baxter and Robert
Baxter.
Time spent at home was time well spent to Net. Gardening and reading were her constant
companions. Her yard was her pride and joy with sunflowers being her favorite flower, yet
dandelions didn’t stand a chance as she plucked them daily.
Net found delight in life’s simple pleasures: shopping trips, paint-by-number masterpieces on her
phone, word searches that sharpened her keen mind, and cooking. Television brought her
laughter and joy, from Judge Judy’s sharp wit to the whirlwind romances of The Bachelor, and
professional wrestling.
The kind of person who made you feel heard, valued, and at ease, Net was a great listener. Her
warmth and quiet presence will be missed deeply by all who knew her.
Net leaves to cherish her memory her beloved children, Carolyn Preston of Reno, Texas, Dean
Bastible and wife Tricia of Burleson, Texas, Jerry Bastible and wife Jeannie of Venus, Texas;
grandchildren, Richard Baker, Charlotte Baker Wolfe, C. Dee Williams, Elizabeth Flick; Clint
Bastible and wife Jessica, Craig Bastible and wife Lauren, Blake Bastible and wife Crystal,
Bryan Bastible and wife Karen; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren;
brothers, Lendel Ray Baxter and wife Bertha, Harold Baxter and wife Bartie Jo; numerous
nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2025 at the Forest Hill
Baptist Church with Pastor Leon Tims officiating. Interment will follow.
Family will receive friends at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel Friday, July 25, 2025 from 3:00
to 5:00 p.m.
