Ima Faye McBrayer, 71, of Oklahoma City, passed from this life August 20, 2021. Ima was born April 19, 1950, in Whitefield, OK, to Joseph L. and Jean Smith.
Ima had lived in Oklahoma County for the last three years coming from Dumas, TX. She enjoyed reading her Bible, taking care of her plants and koi pond, and cooking. Ima loved spending time with her kittens, thrift store shopping, and being the best Grammie and MiMi by buying toys for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She could frequently be found dancing and nature watching.
She married the love of her life Bill McBrayer in Broken Arrow, OK, on April 13, 1971 at Bill's parent's house after 3 weeks of knowing each other. Ima and Bill celebrated 50 years of love & marriage this year.
Ima was preceded in death by her son, Paul Joseph McBrayer; parents, Joseph and Jean Smith; brothers, Larry and Jerry Lee Smith.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bill, of Oklahoma City; son, Coy McBrayer Jr; his wife, Tasha McBrayer, of Midwest City, daughter, Ashley Hunt; her husband Jathan Hunt, of Oklahoma City; brother, Lloyd “Sonny” Smith and Peggy Smith, of Holdenville, OK; sister, Sharon Riemer and Russell Riemer, of Sioux City, IA; 4 grand children and 3 great grand children (and one on the way) and a host of other relatives and many friends.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be Monday, August 30, 2021 at 11AM at the Denison Cemetery Pavilion, Idabel, OK.
Viewing times for Mrs. McBrayer will be Sunday, August 29, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Monday, August 30 from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m.
