JC McKee

October 7, 1934 ~ August 20, 2020 (age 85) 85 Years Old

JC McKee Obituary

JC McKee, better known as “Papaw”, passed away from this life into the arms of his Heavenly Father on August 20th, 2020 at 09:05 am., of a broken heart (noting that Mother passed away just 36 days earlier). Dad had traveled his journey in this life of 85 years, 10 months & 13 days, to meet his Savior.  

Services will be held at Haworth Assembly of God Church, Saturday August 29th, 2020 with Visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. thru 10:45, with Services immediately following at 11:00 a.m. Once service has concluded, JC will be laid to rest at the Redland Cemetery, joining his loving wife, Bessie McKee, of 63 years, 5 months and 12 days.  

JC was preceded in death by his wife “Bessie McKee”, parents “Myrtle & Burton McKee”, two brothers Burton McKee Jr & David McKee and one great-grandson “Kagan Michael Paul McKee”. 

JC was born in Redland, Oklahoma on October 7, 1934 and resided in Redland until marrying the love of his life, Bessie McKee on February 3rd, 1957. Shortly after marriage, JC & Bessie moved to Kansas where they started their family.  

JC & Bessie later settled in Redland while raising four children, Mike, Jim, Sonya and Donnie. JC was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and soon would have been a great-great-grandfather.  JC enjoyed spending time with family and friends, raising cattle, working as a carpenter, gardening in his orchard and helping his wife Bessie working on their farm. JC was the image of a devoted Christian with a loving heart and would do anything to help his family and anyone else. He will be greatly missed by all. 

JC leaves behind a legacy to be carried on by their children, Mike McKee & wife, Retha of Foreman, Arkansas, Jim McKee & wife, Lesli of Fort Worth, Texas, Sonya McCombs & husband Michael of Foremen, Arkansas and Donnie McKee & wife, Heather of Kenefic, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren “Chad & Felicia McKee, Amanda & Jason Saiz, Lauren McKee, Kelsi Rondon & Armando Alanzo, Jemilynn & Jason Wright, Jay Curt & Danielle McKee, Jerrika & Colt Holbert, Mindi & David Schmidt, Lauren & Rodney Long, Braeden McKee & Jazen McKee”; nineteen great-grandchildren, “Kortlyn, Kyler, Ty, Jason, Peyton, Natalia, Drake, Royce, Abby, Rylan, Jaydan, Sadie, Gray, Rowan, Anslee, Declan, Bridger, Eli & Rhett and one great-great-grandchild “Taytum Leigh”.  

JC leaves behind two brothers, Cecil McKee of Broken Bow, Oklahoma & Jimmie Don McKee of Stillwater, Oklahoma, two sisters Lucille (Fowler) Brown of Farmington, New Mexico and Debbie Atterberry of Redland, Oklahoma, numerous brother and sister-in-law’s, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

The family wishes to express their appreciation to all of JC’s doctors, nurses and staff for their devoted love and care. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, you may make a donation to the Redland Cemetery for perpetual care (1449 Shinewell Rd, Haworth, OK 74740).
