Jack Citty Obituary

Jack Warner Citty, of the Pollard Community, passed away peacefully September
5, 2025, at the age of 87. Born January 10, 1938, to Lex and Irene (Bozarth) Citty,
Jack lived a life defined by quiet strength, hard work, devotion to family, and a
deep love for the outdoors.
Jack graduated Haworth High School in May, 1956, He worked construction and
oil fields to pay for college. Jack graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State
University, Durant, OK, in May, 1960. He was raised with strong values of faith,
family, and service. He carried those values throughout his life, whether in the
classroom, the military, or the woods. After proudly serving his country in the
United States Army, Jack returned home and went on to dedicate many years as an
elementary school teacher, shaping young minds with patience, humor, and a
genuine care for his students. He was also a dedicated member of the Goodwater
Masonic Lodge, where he served with honor and humility.
But for all the roles Jack played in life, none brought him more joy than the ones
he held outdoors. He was an avid outdoorsman, a true woodsman in every sense of
the word. Jack's love of nature was more than a hobby; it was a way of life. He
found his greatest peace and connection to the world around him while hunting,
fishing, tending his garden, or riding his four-wheeler. Jack will be missed by all
who knew and loved him. Though his absence will be deeply felt, his
spirit lives on in the lessons he taught and the memories he created.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Lex and Irene Citty; and three brothers,
Jerry Citty, Paul Citty, and Steve Citty.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Melveda Citty; sons, Jay Lundry and wife
Tina, and Don Lundry; daughter, Jan Farley; sister, Lexie Gail Nichols and
husband Louis; precious sisters-in-law, Deanie Citty and Linda Citty, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces,
nephews, and a host of extended family and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
The family will receive friends from 5:00–7:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 7,
2025, at Clardy Funeral Service Chapel. A celebration of Jack’s life will be held at
2:00 P.M. Monday, September 8, 2025 at Pollard Landmark Missionary Baptist
