Jacqueline “Jackie” Tapley passed away June 28, 2024 in Idabel, Oklahoma. She was born
August 13, 1946 the daughter of Elbert and Florence Johnson. She was a member of the
Haworth Church of Christ and had lived in the area most of her life.
An educator for over twenty years, Jackie was a teacher’s aide at Denison and worked in the
Headstart programs at both Idabel and Haworth. She truly loved children.
Jackie enjoyed shopping, canning and gardening. She loved to decorate. Family gatherings
together and cooking for her family was something she cherished. She loved her son,
grandchildren and mostly her great-grandbabies.
Jackie is survived by her husband of fifty seven years, Jon Doyle Tapley; son and daughter-in-
law, Shane and Patti Tapley; grandchildren, Macy Tapley, Katie Burns and husband Cory, Jay
Tunnell; great-grandchildren, Riley, Rayleigh, Rhett, River; life-long best friend, Barbara Mashburn; numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 1, 2024 at Denison
Cemetery with Aubrey Thompson officiating. Interment will follow.
