James William Ritchie, 95 passed away February 26, 2025 in McAlester, Oklahoma. He was born July 18, 1929 at Idabel, Oklahoma, the son of Bertha and Jess Ritchie. James married his wife Eula at Crescent City, California on July 30, 1951. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eula Ritchie; brothers, Leland Ritchie, Loren Ritchie, Don Ritchie; sisters, Trula Fern Whitely, Jean Klingman, Lois Cooke.
James was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and gardening. James was a hard worker, often times you could find him working at David’s farm. He was a carpenter and truck driver for Ernest Whisenhunt. James loved the Lord and his family and cherished spending time with them every chance he could get. He was a member of Garvin Church of Christ. James will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
He is survived by his children, Brenda McCracken and husband Rick, Debbie Marie Ritchie, David Eugene Ritchie and wife Sandra, Joanie Lecrone and husband Butch; grandchildren, Jesse McCracken and wife Amy, Jerod McCracken, JD Ritchie, Laci Meeks and husband Blake, Chelsi Krause and husband Tim, Brooke Henderson and husband Chandler; great-grandchildren, Sierra McCracken, Addison McCracken, Kaitlin McCracken, Beau Ritchie, Presley Ritchie, Tristan Meeks, Jolie Meeks, Anna Meeks, Norah Krause, Sully Krause, Prairie Henderson, Granger Henderson, Aspen Henderson, Mesa Henderson, and special golf buddies; along with a host of other family, friends, and loved ones.
Family will receive friends Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Clardy Funeral Service Chapel. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2025 at Clardy Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery in the Forest Grove Community.
