Jessie Wayne Smith, 42, of Idabel, OK, went Home to be with His Lord and Savior Jesus on November 1, 2021. He was born in Galveston, TX, to Donna Sue Smith and James Daniel Pond, on July 3, 1979.
Jessie lived most of his life in McCurtain County. He was the very best shad tree mechanic. He loved hunting, and fishing (catfishing the right way). He was always the one to call, always giving a helping hand, even when he didn’t feel good himself. He loved Jesus and his family with all of his heart.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Daniel Pond; paternal grandparents, Bootalie Pond and Mary Lavern Pond; maternal grandparents, Eldon William Smith and Barbara Jean Christian; and brother, Ricky Jean Smith; aunt, Laurhonda Scott; and uncle, Gary Scott.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his fiancé and love of his life, Angie Jean Wortham; his mother, Donna Sue Smith; his daughters, Nicole Diane Smith; his sons, Ryan Lee Smith and Conner Nicolas Raines Smith; daughters, Katelynne Danielle Cooper, Alexia Payton Cooper, and Destiny Leann Wortham, all of the home; two granddaughters, Nashville Ryleigh Marie Wortham, Elktra Grace Leann McCarson; and grandson, due in January 2022, Mikel Wayne Howard Blackwell; one sister, Marcie Dianne Stepphens; two nieces, Makenzie Grace Steffens, and Mallorie Rose Steffens, of Garland, TX; special cousins, Jay Ney, Carrie LeeAnn VanNest, and Gary Phillip Scott, Jr; his uncles, Eldon Smith, Kevin Sparks, Mark and Robby Pond; aunts, Tinsey Lovewell and Martha “Toodlem” Pond; and a host of family and friends.
A Celebration of Graveside Service will be November 2, 2021 at 3:30PM at Canfield Cemetery, with Pastor Michael Toliver officiating.
