Jimmy Baxter, 70 of Haworth, passed away February 10, 2019 at his home. He was born February 29, 1948, the son of Michael and Bess Baxter.
A guitar player, Jimmy was a very talented musician. He wrote poetry and was well known for his writings. He was a pipefitter and was also very talented with a cutting torch, often cutting out metal into objects of art.
He is survived by his mother, Bess Potts of Haworth; daughter, Jazzmun Brown of Haworth; brother and sisters-in-law, Dan and Fran Baxter of Haworth and Pam Baxter of Haworth; sister, Lila Wilkerson of Haworth; grandchildren, Thorn Potts, William and Robert Brown, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Michael Baxter; brother, Bruce Baxter; and step-father, Bobby Potts.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2019 at the Redland Cemetery in the Redland Community with Bro. Ed Walker officiating. Interment will follow.
