Jimmie W. Browning, 93 of Idabel, passed away January 8, 2022 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital. He was born January 14, 1928 the son of Lewis and Audie Collins Browning.
Jimmie was a faithful member of the Haworth First Assembly of God Church. He didn’t like missing church and would only miss if he was ill. He was caring and generous. He had a soft spot for helping children, loved giving and was a proud supporter of St. Jude, Easter Seals, March of Dimes and the NRA.
A banker, Jimmie contributed fifty-six years of service at the Idabel National Bank and currently served as a board member.
Jimmie enjoyed hunting and fishing, gardening, cattle, puzzles and his dog Phoebe. He was most crazy about his wife Doris. The two were inseparable in their marriage of almost sixty years when she passed away. Even on Jimmy’s hunting trips, Doris would go with him and wait in the truck for his arrival, just as she has awaited his arrival in Heaven.
Jimmie is survived by his son, Keith Browning of Idabel; daughter, Kaye Browning of Idabel; grandchildren, Ginny Snider and husband Brad, Aaron Browning, Zach Browning and wife Adrienne, Brad Browning and wife Morgan, Calen Cawley; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
