Before Jimmy was formed in his mother’s womb God knew him and he was born to J.B. and Mattie Batey on June 21st, 1960 in Harris, Oklahoma. The sixth child to this union.
Jimmy loved being around family and friends having a good time, some would say he was the life of the party. He never met a stranger everyone he knew became a friend to him.
Jimmy attended the Haworth public school system and graduated in 1978.
After graduating He went on to work for Hoot Owl Farm for several years. Then he worked for the Quality Rock Co. for 27 years.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his Father and Mother: J.B. and Mattie Batey, Sisters: Mary Ann Batey and Gertrude Moss. Brothers: Willie Batey and John Dale Batey Sr., Nephews: Tyrone Haney, James Ray Haney Jr., and John Dale Batey Jr.
Jimmy was raised in the Harris community, and was a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church where he was baptized at an early age.

Nieces: Lisa Hurd, Demetries Batey, Dacettie Moss, Latrice Bailey, Shedricka Moss, Sarah Batey, and Brandy Mitchell.
Nephews: Anthony Nash, Kenya Batey, Joshua Bailey, Travis Bagsby, Charles Bagsby, Ryan Moss, Eddie Batey Jr. Larry Moss, Kyren Batey, Kelvin Johnson Jr.
And a host of Great nieces and nephew’s family and friends.
A Homegoing Celebration will take place at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Hooks officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Cemetery.
