Joyce Peters

Joyce Peters, 77 of Idabel, passed away June 5, 2022 at her home.  She was born February 21, 1945 at Idabel, the daughter of Jessie and Ella Johnson.  She married Ned Peters on June 2, 1962.  She was of the Baptist faith. 

Sweet and kind-hearted, Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  Her grandkids were her life.  Caring for them was very important to her. She enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, mowing, being outside and she was a huge Elvis fan. 

Joyce is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Peters, Randy Peters, John Peters, Michael and Ashley Peters; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jessie and Debbie Johnson, Billy and Cindy Johnson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Jimmy Crank, Sandy and Troy Harkey, Morine Stiles; grandchildren, Ashley Wilson and husband Mike, Matthew Peters, Jeremy Peters and fiancé Adriana Daugherty, Aarron Peters, Cody Peters, Lacy Willett and husband Dalton, Brianna Peters, Braiden Peters; eight great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ned Peters; son, David Peters; brothers, Donald “Duck” Johnson; Robert Johnson, Wesley Johnson; and sister, Patsy Rose.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022 at the Canfield Cemetery in Idabel with Joe Voyles officiating.  Interment will follow. 

Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel on Wednesday June 8, 2022.
