Joyce Wilkie, 82 of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, passed away July 14, 2020 at Mustang, Oklahoma. She was born September 12, 1937 the daughter of Elmer and Ruth Bruce.
Joyce married Oscar Wilkie on October 28, 1955 at the New Zion Methodist Church in Atoka, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker while raising her children, then later worked for Sherill’s Pharmacy and Wal-Mart. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the First United Methodist Churches, and United Methodist Women’s Fellowship. She served as a pastor’s wife by Oscar’s side throughout numerous churches. She enjoyed being active in the church, fishing, four-wheeler riding, ceramics, and painting. She was a wonderful cook and made the best banana bread. She was compassionate and loved her grandbabies and great-grandbabies beyond measure.
Joyce is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Teresa Wilkie of Holly Creek; daughters and son in law, Barbara Morgan of Yukon and Betty and Don Baxter of Choctaw, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Patsy Bruce of Atoka; seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; four nieces; and her Idabel Presbyterian Church Family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Oscar Wilkie; parents, Elmer and Ruth Bruce; sister and brother-in-law, Molly and Bob Decker; and brother, Junior Bruce.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Crown Hill Cemetery with Rev. Michael Dye officiating. Interment will follow.
Family will receive friends Friday, July 17, 2020 from 5:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m. at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel.
