Kim Herron Obituary

Kim Herron, NP, 69 of Idabel, passed away May 17, 2024 at her home. She was born December 20, 1954
at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, the daughter of Dr. B.J. and Bonnie Waldrop.
A 1973 graduate of Gray High School, Kim married William “Bill” Herron at Idabel, on August 3, 1974.
She attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Several
years later she became a student of the University of North Dakota to graduate with her Master’s
Degree in Physician’s Assistant. She continued her medical practice as a PA alongside her husband, Dr.
Bill Herron at the Herron Family Medical Clinic. She considered her education and her lifelong goal to
become a PA one of her greatest accomplishments. She was very proud of her accomplishment.
A devoted Christian, Kim enjoyed bible studies and loved hosting them. She was a true servant whose
caring heart showed through her actions of love and kindness to those around her. She was a caretaker
who cared deeply for those around her. When she gave you a compliment or asked how you were, she
really meant it. She was genuine and compassionate. Her grandbabies meant the world to her and
spending time with her entire family was something she most cherished, including organizing family
vacations together for them all to enjoy together. She also loved listening to music and playing the
piano.
Kim is survived by her husband, Dr. Bill Herron of the home; children, Justin Herron of Idabel, Jason
Herron and wife Brianne of Springdale, Arkansas, Lindsey Mabry and husband Dr. Bryan Mabry of
Springdale, Arkansas; grandchildren, Ella Herron, Kate Herron, Holland Herron, Eli Mabry, Noah Mabry,
Jonah Mabry, Levi Mabry; mother, Bonnie Waldrop of Idabel; brother, Mark Waldrop and wife Rosa;
nieces, Brittany James and husband Stuart, Claire Waldrop; dear lifelong friends, Patty and J.T. Wilcox
and their children Morgan Beckwith and Brooke Wilcox, and Nelda and Don Shaw; numerous other
relatives and many, many friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. B.J. Waldrop and sister, Kata Waldrop.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2024 at the First Baptist Church
