Leroy Cooper, 74 of Garvin, passed away July 26, 2021 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital. He was born January 31, 1947 the son of Theo and Frances Cooper. He married Phyllis Hammer at Kiowa, Oklahoma on September 23, 1967.
Leroy was a member of the Army National Guard. He and Phyllis lived in Arlington for a while but returned to Oklahoma in the early seventies. He attended the Church of God at Valliant.
Leroy worked for Oklahoma Natural Gas until his retirement. He enjoyed going to the casino, restoring antique furniture, fishing and hunting deer and coons.
Leroy is survived by his wife, Phyllis; sisters, Leola Ann Abbott and Lanney Louise Rhea; brothers, Sherman Houston Cooper and Charles Edward Cooper; special friends, LuAnna and Nyles Strickland, Rosemary Bastible and Natalie, Eva and Brayden Hefti; twenty nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Billy Carl Cooper and Daniel Matthew Cooper.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2021 at the Valliant Church of God with Bro. Leon Timms officiating. Interment will follow in the Denison Cemetery.
Family will receive friends Friday, July 30, 2021 at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
