Lizzy Tate, 48 of Muskogee, passed away August 2, 2024. She was born March 20, 1976 the daughter of
Sue and Danny Turnage. She married Eddie Tate, December 12, 2019 at the First United Methodist
Church in Idabel.
A spiritual person, Lizzy loved the moon, the stars and the sky. She believed you should dream as if
you’ll live forever, live as if you’ll die today. She lived as such and was very caring and loving. She loved
her family, especially her children and her pets. She loved animals.
A lover of music, she enjoyed all music. Def Leopard, Steve Miller Band and Journey were some of
her favorites. But her favorite band was Kid Rock. She also enjoyed being able to get together with her high school friends.
Lizzy is survived by her husband, Eddie Tate of Muskogee; children; Trey DeForrest and wife Kayla of
Idabel, Jason Tate of Goodwater, Avery Zen of Muskogee; parents, Sue and Danny Turnage of Idabel;
sister, Miranda McKinney and husband David and their children, Kaydance, Michael, Austin, David III,
Raelena, Danny Olen all of Idabel; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Connie and Floyd Harris; brother-in-
law, Tommy Harris and his son Remington Harris; best friends, Linda Butcher-McCown and Heather Hill;
numerous other relatives and many more friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Pete and Mary Watson and Emmit and Jewel Turnage
and uncle, Steve Watson.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at the Clardy Funeral Service
Chapel.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at the First United
Methodist Church in Idabel with Rev. Mark Polson officiating. Interment will follow in the Canfield
Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, family has requested donations be made to the Oklahoma School for the Blind, 3300
Gibson St., Muskogee, Oklahoma 74403.
