Lorene Tom

Lorene Tom, 63 of Idabel, was reunited with her mother on May 10, 2020, Mother’s Day, as she passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy illness.   She was such a strong woman and was always there to help anyone in their time of need.  She went through a lot in her short sixty-three years.  She loved her family through it all and no matter her need or situation, she always went above and beyond to care for and give to her family and friends.  She loved her family, her dog and gardening. She touched the lives of all who knew her. 

Lorene was born June 3, 1956 at Idabel, the daughter of Andrew and Lucille Rolen.  She and her family moved all throughout McCurtain County but she always remained in the area and considered it home.  She attended school in Idabel and Haworth for a short time.  She worked at Lewis Food’s in the bakery and at the Holiday Inn.  

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Tracey Helms and spouse, Robert Bohlman of Idabel, Mary Helms of Glover, Lisa Robinson and husband Ricky of Durant; son, Michael Tom of Durant; brothers, Non Rolen of Enid, Virgil Rolen and wife Connie of Woodward, Oklahoma; special friend, William Nelson of Idabel; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Lorene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe “Buddy” Tom; brothers, Lloyd Rolen and Tom Billy Smith; grandson, Johnny Collum and sister-in-law, Patricia Rolen. 

A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Mickey Haley.  Private inurnment will follow at a later date.  

Family will be available to great friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel, Tuesday, May 12, 2020. 

Social distancing protocol is still in effect for funerals and will be followed as not to place any further hardship on Lorene’s family.
