Lucille (Campbell) Davis

Lucille Davis, 95 of Idabel, passed away April 17, 2019.  She was born March 31, 1924 at Idabel, Oklahoma, the son of Ethel and James Campbell, Sr.   She married Roy Lavelle Davis, Sr. at Shiloh Baptist Church, June 8, 1947.

Lucille was a member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, VFW Post #4777 Ladies Auxiliary and worked at Idabel National Bank for over seventy years.  

She was a simple lady, and the perfect wife.  She was very devoted to her husband and never left his side during his illnesses.  She loved to be outdoors working in her yard planting flowers and keeping up her yard.  She was also a good cook and made the best lemon pie.

Lucille leaves to cherish her memory, her son and daughter-in-law, Roy Jr. and Sandra Davis of Center, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa and Jay Rowland of Celina, Texas and Vivian and Andy Steed of Idabel; brothers and sisters-in-law, James Jr. and Haven Campbell of Idabel and Dr. Raymond and Jo Campbell of Stillwater; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Jay Burns of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, John (Dianna) Rowland, Jayme Rowland, Amanda (Evan) Farmer, Marlena (Johnny) Fuller, Bret Steed; six great-grandchildren; her banking family; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Davis, Sr.; brothers, Willie Campbell, C.L. Campbell and Paul Campbell; sisters, Violet Campbell and Mildred Pitts.

A celebration of life service will be held April 19, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel with Dr. Andy Bowman and Bro. Sonny Dense officiating.  Interment will follow in the Canfield Cemetery in Idabel, Oklahoma.
