Lucille Fowler Obituary

Lucille "Pama" Fowler (McKee), aged 86, won the final victory over Alzheimer’s, as she entered the presence of her Savior on June 8, 2025, in Farmington, New Mexico. She was born on September 10, 1938 to Burton and Myrtle McKee in Redland, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents;  brothers, Burton "Junior" McKee, JC McKee, and David McKee; former husband, dear friend, and father to her 4 children, Cecil Fowler Sr.; and stepson, Greg Brown.

Part of a large close-knit family, Lucille made many fond memories growing up in Redland, Oklahoma and the surrounding area. In 1969 she and former husband, Cecil, along with the first three of their four kids, moved out west to Monticello, Utah, where their youngest was born and many dear friendships were forged, then eventually on to Moab, where they also made lifetime friends, and finally ended up in Farmington, New Mexico in 1989. There Lucille excelled for many years serving her large base of beloved customers at Western Warehouse, where she built lasting friendships with coworkers and customers alike, that have continued long after her retirement.

Lucille’s life was a living testimony of her love for Jesus and others, as was evident through the way she loved generously, forgave graciously, and had a special way of making people feel welcome and wanted. With great humility and soft-spoken gentleness, she engaged everyone she encountered in a way that led to Jesus and invited all to join her. She had a true servant’s heart and strove to be a peacemaker among co-workers, neighbors, friends and family.

From her children and grand kids to siblings and extended family, her greatest love of this earthly life was her family, and she poured her life generously into them all. Likely the most frequent phrase she uttered was, “I love my family.” And that was the last full phrase Alzheimer’s was able to pry from her lips, as she kept it up to the last weeks of this life. Yet the knowledge of that fact is an everlasting imprint that she has left deeply etched into the hearts and minds of all who were so blessed to be family to her, not just by blood, but by a deeper love that invites others with open arms to come on in and be part of the family she loved so well.

Blessed with an extended loving family, Lucille is survived by husband, Duane Brown; children, Cecil Fowler Jr., Cille Hodgin, Brent Fowler, Sherri (Mark) Downey; stepdaughters, Donna (Vernel) Perry,  Cheryl (Boyce) Perry; grandchildren, Cecilia, Raylon, Kalend, Trey, Jewelia, Destiny, Tenacia, Ryan, Nicole, Madison, Michael, Kayla, Megan, Brittany, Heather, Derek, Daymon, Jamie; and an abundant blessing of great grandchildren, and many others related by love who were privileged to call her by her favorite title of "Pama." She is also survived by siblings Cecil McKee, Jim (Joyce) McKee, Debbie Atterberry; and many, many nieces, nephews, extended family and cherished friends that she loved to visit every chance she got.
