Maria Mayhall was born June 7, 1928 at San Salvador, El Salvador. She grew up in Costa Rica where she became a citizen. Shortly after, they moved to Venezuela and had two sons, Bill and Stephen. In August of 1966, the Mayhall’s moved to Idabel where they owned and operated the local Sears Store from 1967 to 1993. She also became a US Citizen during this time.
Maria had many hobbies after retirement. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and embroidery. She also grew “test” roses that she would document and send her findings back to the companies to help grown better, healthier roses.
Maria was tough. She had many tribulations throughout life that made her a strong woman. Her faith was most important to her and she shared this with her family. She had a love for her family and her grandchildren that was unprecedented.
