Marie Tucker

Mattie Marie Tucker, 85 of Haworth, was called home to be with her Savior, November 16, 2020.  She was born, July 1, 1935 at Bradley, Arkansas, the daughter of Jack and Lula Bunting. 

Marie and Ben Tucker were united in marriage on September 6, 1952 at Texarkana.  Later, they moved to California before coming to Oklahoma in 1967 where they made their home. 

Marie loved church and had been a member of the Idabel Church of God since 1981. She loved serving the Lord and she loved to sing and listen to the music.  She was the spiritual pillar of her family, setting the example of a strong, hard working, faithful and caring woman.  She loved her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids and having them around her meant the world to her.  

Her hobbies included fishing with Ben, shopping for clothes and shoes, and playing games each day, like dominos, canasta, rummy and dice.  She loved to win and was good at it. 

Marie leaves to cherish her memory her husband of sixty-eight years, Ben Tucker; daughters and sons-in-law, Jeannie and Phillip Taylor of Haworth, Kathy “Guen” and Duane  Murphy of Garland, Texas, Phyllis and Tom Barbado of Navarre Beach, Florida, Vickey and David Atnip of Haworth; grandchildren, Keith Taylor, Eric Taylor, Nathan Springer, Kyle Staska, Leah George, Britney Wewers, Tyler Atnip, Rachelle Atnip; twelve great-grandchildren; special friend, Rosetta Massey; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2020 at the Pauley Cemetery near Winthrop, Arkansas with Bro. Wayne Freeman and Sis. Tammy Hughes officiating.

Family will receive friends form 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2020 at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel.
