It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved, Marilyn Louise
Walden, who peacefully joined our Father in Heaven August 19, 2025, at the age of 74.
She was born on September 18, 1950, in Idabel, Oklahoma. She was a woman of faith,
love, and kindness, always putting her family and others before herself.
Marilyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, big sister, and friend to everyone.
She dedicated her life to caring for her family. She found joy in anything and everything
that evolved around “her boys”. She found greater joy in being a part of her grandkid’s
activities and sports. “Mimi” loved cheering and would always be the loudest voice
cheering for her grandkids at any event she was attending.
Marilyn was a life-long educator for numerous school districts in southeastern
Oklahoma until retirement. After retiring from education, she went on to work for the
CASA Program in Idabel, Oklahoma before ending her working career with the
McCurtain County Health Department, where she continued her love for others. Marilyn
was a proud member of First Baptist Church in Broken Bow, Oklahoma and loved
Pastor Pete.
Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Mike Walden; son, Michael
Walden and spouse Deanna Walden, with grandchild Emilee Williams; son, Tony Walden
and spouse Jenny Walden, with grandchildren Brayden and Presley Walden; sister,
Judy Copeland; brother Tommy Stevenson and sister-in-law Lori Stevenson; along with
numerous nieces, and nephews, and cousins.
Marilyn has now been reunited in heaven with her father, Thomas “Son” Stevenson;
mother, Billie Stevenson; brother-in-law, Doug Walden; sister-in-law, Judy Walden.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Clardy Funeral Service
Chapel, Saturday, August 23, 2025, with graveside services at Denison Cemetery to
follow. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. just prior to the funeral service.
All family and friends are invited to attend the celebration of life for the beautiful Marilyn
Walden.
Mom, your love, patience, and guidance will remain in our hearts forever.
A special thanks would go out to Marilyn’s entire care team during her final days, along
with her at-home care giver Nadine Wesley, along with close friends Tony and
Gladysann Benson, Jim and Myra Stout. In her final days, Pastor Pete Wilson and Lynn
Walden were crucial in providing support and guidance for the family will forever be
grateful. Marilyn also loved going to get her hair fixed on Fridays by Kristen Stout, even
when she did not like her hair being touched..
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you please consider donating to St. Judes Hospital.
