Mary Jane White

Mary Jane White, 69 of the Redland Community, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at her home.  She was born December 17, 1953 at Susanville, California, the daughter of Rodgers and Nellie Phillips Brooks.  She married John White on April  14, 1972 at Bethel Baptist Church.

Mary enjoyed painting.  Some of her most recognized paintings were in the gymnasiums of Idabel High School, Denison Elementary and Haworth Schools where she had painted their mascots. She also enjoyed sewing and quilting and would go to craft festivals to sell her prized possessions. She loved Mexican food and would go with anyone who would take her.  Most of all she enjoyed spending time her husband and her family. They were her world.  She was kind, big-hearted, giving and loved by many.

She was preceded in death by her father, Rodgers Brooks; brothers, Terry Brooks and Steve Brooks .

Mary is survived by her husband of 51 years, John White; daughters, Stephanie Jacobs, Stacy Smith, Terri Underwood and husband, Shane; mother, Nellie Brooks; sisters, Anneta Huggins and husband William, and Tommie Donaldson; grandchildren, Caitlyn Daily and husband Matt, John Riley White and Arinn Smith, Miranda Fines and husband Scott, Bailey Underwood, Zane Jacobs, Beau Smith and Tara Bohanan, Lily Underwood, Avery Smith; great-grandchildren, Tucker Figueroa, Bentley Figueroa, Emrie Figueroa, Elara White, Parker Fines, Noah Underwood, Leanne Smith, Cade White,  Stella Lewis, Mason Fines, Swayde Jacobs, Beckett White; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

A graveside service was held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at the White/Underwood Cemetery in Idabel.
