Maxine Squires

Maxine Squires, 96 of Idabel, passed from this life on October 27, 2020.  She was born February 11, 1924 at Idabel, the daughter of W.H. and Mary Lee Mayhall.  She was lovingly known as “Aunt Mac”.

Maxine grew up on a farm west of Idabel and graduated from Idabel High School.  In 1958 she married Bill Squires and they lived in Durant. Upon Bill’s retirement from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol in 1974, the couple returned home to Idabel. 

Maxine was a member of the First Baptist Church, an accomplished seamstress and a wonderful cook, famous for her pecan pies.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; sisters, Gladys Cavender and Earnie Allen; brothers, Arther Mayhall, Willie Mayhall, Floyd Mayhall and Odis Mayhall.     

She leaves to cherish her memory, many nieces and nephews who loved her and will cherish her memory.  

Family will attend a private interment.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.
